Our nation was shaped by the hard work of its citizens and the vision of our forefathers. That’s why our past is so important. We wouldn’t be the great nation we are today without the trials of our past. One of the most trying times of our history is the Civil War. It pitted American brother against each other. It is a sad time but it is also a time of greatness. After that event we became The United States. That’s why I value civil war mementos. I have civil war swords that were handed to me by my father.

My father bought his civil war swords during his twenties. He’s a collector of weapons. He has weapons from all the wars that America has fought in. He has some bayonets from World War 1. Supposedly those bayonets were gathered from the Germans. He also has a katana from World War II.
